Turn your food scraps into compost and make fishing bait at the same time! This living composter uses grubs to quickly get rid of your kitchen leftovers. Immature Soldier Flies are hungry, quick growing, and they will eat just about anything, including vegetable peels, kitchen husks, and yard trimmings.
Simply put your scraps in the Fishing Bait Maker, and let the larvae do all the work. There are two inclined ramps leading up to a harvesting chute. As the grubs go exploring, they will fall through the harvesting hole and into a separate container. The side container is detachable, and you can pour it strait into your bait bucket (so you don't have to dig through the compost to get them out).
Grub worms are great bait for pan fish, sunfish and trout. You can use them them singly or in small batches all barbed through the same hook. Grubs are legal bait in many places where other baits are restricted, and they are very attractive to trophy fish. If you have animals that eat grubs, you can also save on pet food by using the grubs instead. Many kinds of tropical fish, birds, and reptiles enjoy dining on grubs, and grubs are high in protein and other nutrients. The bottom of the composter also has a container to capture compost tea. This liquid extract is rich in nutrients and benevolent soil bacteria - it's great to pour on your yard or use for watering houseplants. And, since compost tea is naturally balanced, you don't have to worry about over fertilizing or burning leaves.
