This pack contains two additional filters that go with the stainless steel compost pail. They are replacement filters that will help control smell and prevent any unpleasant odors in your kitchen.
Filters last between 3 and 6 months. Their lifetime varies depending on the temperature in your kitchen (warmer = faster decomposition and more odors to neutralize), how long you typically keep scraps in the crock before emptying it, how much you keep inside, and a few other factors.
Each filter pack includes 2 full filters. These filters are a combination of the round and square filters that are sold separately for other compost bins. When used together, the round and square filters offer twice as much odor protection.
Each of the components works great on their own, but, together, they work even better. These filters offer superior control over smells and will absorb even the strongest odors.
